from the ballroom

he stays up on the first floor, with his chin on the handrail and stares at the shadows, there’s a sort of rythm in the shadows movement
he wonders if there’s an orchestra playing valtz, 60 beat per minutes, 3/4, one two three, one two three.
he just read about it somewhere, but he never heard it
he read that the couple has to be very close, each heart of the couple has to be close to the other one, to synchronize the beat.
the beat, again, numbers. he says to himself, i can count, i can dance, but i will not know what the melody is made of.
his ears refuse to work, and he doesn t know why
